Modernize the website visually, improve accessibility and mobile responsiveness, create a modular component library for consistent updates
The Writers Guild of America West’s website (wga.org) had grown visually dated and difficult to maintain. Its content-heavy layout made navigation challenging, while the CMS lacked reusable components for consistent updates. The Guild wanted a more engaging, colorful design that reflected its creative community while meeting accessibility and mobile usability standards.

We overhauled the entire wga.org website with a refreshed visual system—introducing new typography, color-coded hero sections for each content area, and accessible layouts that meet WCAG standards. The result is a site that’s modern, readable, and visually dynamic.
We created a reusable component library integrated into WGAW’s custom CMS. This modular approach made ongoing content editing much easier for the WGA team. Editors can now mix and match pre-built components to update pages quickly and maintain alignment with the new design system.
To reduce cognitive load and improve navigation, we added clearer labels, refined information hierarchy, and embedded related FAQs directly on each page—helping users quickly find answers without needing to search separately.
We restructured layouts to perform seamlessly across devices, ensuring the same high-quality experience on desktop, tablet, and mobile.
The redesign extended beyond the public site to include mywga.org (the member app behind login) and inspired the upcoming refresh of the WGA Platform and intranet, aligning all digital touchpoints under a shared visual and component system.
